Revenge. The word is spit out of clenched teeth, accompanied with an angry desire for blood. How can we possibly use it to define G-d as a Being of vengeance? More frustrating is the picture we often see in the world of the wicked taking pride in their success and evil accomplishment, and nations literally getting away with murder while sincerely good people struggle. If God does indeed take revenge, why doesn't He exact punishment from the right people?
